Think about it logically: posting without interacting with anyone else’s stuff is egocentric. How do you plan to show up on the Insta map if no one knows where to find you?
George suggests: “Get involved and comment insightful comments on other users’ posts. You can even set a reminder to comment on leading accounts once a day in hopes of stealing some of their followers.”
Another option is to try smart networking in your field using Jonny’s hashtag method.
- Type in a hashtag related to your niche e.g. “home workouts” or “CrossFit”
- Click the “recent” tab (as these creators are likely still active)
- Like and comment on posts that evoke emotion – be human
- Check who else has liked the post and engage with their profile
- Make strong connections and show up often
This makes you a friendly face. You’ll be regularly engaging with content and creators that you a) like, and b) form relationships. Provided your page is “followable”, people will likely return the favour.
A word of caution: don’t spam comment and like. You could get shadowbanned as this type of hyper-interaction can get flagged as bot activity. Don’t be a bot.
